HAPPY BIRTHDAY RAQUEL!

Leia em PORTUGUÊS

Today is the 22nd of August here in Korea, but right now it is still the 21st in Brazil, and it is our daughter Raquel's birthday. Since we are half a world apart, we celebrated over the internet on Skype as we usually do since we came to Korea. I always make a real cake and little treats like hot dogs and finger food to celebrate family birthdays. However, we still can't send food through the computer so this time I made Origami cake... there are a few pros, though: it's cute, authentic, you won't gain any weight, and it can be mailed :o)

HAPPBIRTHDAY, Raquel!

P.S. Blogging about food is my favorite hobby. My second favorite hobby is making Origami. Putting them both together.... is priceless!!

You can find the recipe for this cake HERE and HERE and the strawberries were picked HERE.

    Beijoca!

  4. Wow! I used to make origami when I was younger, but nothing as cool as your daughter's birthday cake. I'm a new visitor to your blog and I am amazed at all the baking you are doing in Korea. When I was visiting Korea, not only was it hard to find baking ingredients, but my grandmother did not have an oven in her apartment. Anyways, I look forward to reading more posts.

  5. That is so gorgeous and such a clever idea! I love the look of origami, but I discovered that I do not have the patience for it at all! Cute strawberries, and I bet they were much more affordable than the ones in stores, if the prices are anything like they were in Japan. Oh, and a very happy birthday to Raquel!
